Ananya Panday Celebrates Eco Friendly Ganesh Visarjan At Home With Heartwarming Farewell

Ananya Panday marked Ganesh Visarjan at home with an eco-friendly farewell to Lord Ganesha. The actor shared glimpses of the intimate ceremony on social media, giving fans a peek into how she chose to celebrate the festival while keeping the immersion process environmentally conscious.

Dressed in a bright yellow suit, Ananya participated in the traditional farewell ritual at her residence. Instead of immersing the idol in a natural water body, the actor placed the Ganesh idol in a drum filled with water, allowing the visarjan to take place at home. The simple ceremony reflected an increasingly popular approach to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi while being mindful of the environmental impact associated with idol immersion.

Adding a traditional touch to her post, Ananya wrote “Pudhachya Varshi Lavkar Ya” in Marathi. The phrase translates to “Come back soon next year” and is commonly used as devotees bid an emotional farewell to Lord Ganesha. Her caption captured the bittersweet feeling that accompanies the end of the festivities — saying goodbye while looking forward to welcoming Bappa again the following year.

Ananya's home celebration comes amid growing awareness around eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Home immersion using a container or artificial tank can help devotees follow the traditional ritual while avoiding the direct immersion of idols in lakes, rivers or the sea. The actor's ceremony therefore combined a personal family celebration with a more environmentally conscious choice.

On the professional front, Ananya Panday was last seen in Chand Mera Dil, where she shared the lead with Lakshya. Directed by Vivek Soni and co-written by Soni and Tushar Paranjape, the romantic drama revolves around two college sweethearts whose understanding of love is tested as they move into adulthood and encounter new responsibilities.

Chand Mera Dil was released in May 2026 and explored the changing dynamics of a relationship as its young protagonists moved beyond college life. The film placed Ananya and Lakshya in a coming-of-age romance where love is challenged by circumstances, expectations and the realities that arrive with growing up.

Ananya is now gearing up to return as Bella in the second season of Prime Video's popular series Call Me Bae. The show is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Adar Poonawalla, with Collin D'Cunha directing the new season. The writing team includes Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair.

Several familiar faces from the first season are expected to return, including Vir Das, Shruti Haasan, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt and Lisa Mishra. Actor Mini Mathur will also join the cast in the upcoming season. The first season of Call Me Bae premiered in September 2024 and introduced audiences to Bella's glamorous yet chaotic journey as she navigated life after losing her privileged lifestyle.

For now, however, Ananya's social media feed is firmly in festive mode. From her yellow traditional outfit to the intimate eco-friendly visarjan and her heartfelt Marathi farewell, the actor's Ganesh Chaturthi celebration offered a warm glimpse of the personal traditions behind the celebrity spotlight. And with her message of “Pudhachya Varshi Lavkar Ya,” the goodbye to Bappa came with one clear promise — the celebrations will begin again next year.
